Avengers

In avengers the TV programme shows a number of things including...
-the emergence of feminism, in the time of when it was released it was very unusual for women to be action packed and sporty (it was normally a male role) so this show was the start of many more
-the whole show is in the upper class lifestyle, for example they have very expensive and unique cars (Emma Peels always shows up in a sports car)
-the show comes across fairly humorous in an unrealistic way because there was a part when the man is walking on the walls and ceiling, this shows it is trying to be a comedy in a different way
-we know the characters are rich because instead of the man getting an eye test where you read what letter is on the wall, he was to name what all the hats are called
-no one seemed to be normal and they all did bizarre things to prove this
-John Steed was always was a gentleman to others
-it is called the 'Avengers' because the man was a doctor who was trying to avenge a death of his fiance
-the girl always comes across stronger than the male when they are having a physical fight

  1. Grade B+ Quite good: you have made a number of points about the social, cultural and historical context.
Watch your English expression: "unusual for women to be action packed".
Can you give some precise evidence to support the point "Steed was always was a gentleman"?
What do you mean by "no one seemed to be normal"? Can you be specific?
